Hello! I'm Ashley, the author of Who in Astrology Are You? Having a witch shop has been a lifelong dream that is to express my true self and leaving a meaningful legacy. I believe I'm fulfilling that goal now, not only through my books but also by creating Hex & Hearth. I've lived in Arkansas since 2000, but my interest in tarot and astrology began at age 8. It's a long story that ultimately brought me here, driven by passion and deep loss.
Over the years, I have experienced intense grief. I have lost over 10 of my close friends who were once the same age as me. Now, in a sense, I am the oldest, outliving all my sweet friends who would have absolutely loved this space for our community and for me. I carry their memory into every corner of this shop.
Beyond the mystic realm, I am a mother of four and married to my wonderful husband, Tommy. I hold a bachelor’s degree in education and taught for about four years. My deepest love belongs entirely to spirituality. I am always learning more about Astrology, Tarot, and anything related to witchery because the more you learn, the more you know. I have a Sagittarius stellium, including my moon. I love to learn and then flip it and teach it my way to other people. I am also a 5/1 Manifester. If you know anything about human design. I am certified in EFT Tapping, Palmistry, and Astrology.
I connect with the other side seamlessly and often. Whether I am asleep or moving through my day, it doesn't matter what I am doing; my loved ones and your loved ones like to come and visit with me. I am apparently pretty popular in the ethereal realm! Currently, I am writing my upcoming tarot book and steadily pecking away at my memoir. I am most excited about the memoir because it will finally tell the story of how I became, well, this: a writer, educator, psychic, mystic, and a lover of the unknown and taboo things.
About Hex & Hearth:
Hex & Hearth were born on the 8th of September. In numerology the number 8 is seen as the sacred link between the worlds, and the upright infinity symbol reflects the traditional belief that as above so below. Our choice to start on an 8th day was intentionally cosmic; it symbolises the way in which spiritual intention is transformed into actual, material reality. All of the hand-poured candles, the herb mixture that we have chosen and the ritual tools which we provide are designed to assist you in establishing your own magic, in moving into your personal authority and in achieving abundance in the physical world.
Since I first saw the Craft I have kept the idea of having a witch shop constantly in my mind and I thought to myself at the time, "It would be nice to own a witch shop." That was in 1996, the same year it was released. I wanted to be the wise shopkeeper who knew precisely what her customers needed; she was the guru of the movie and the person to whom the most powerful witch, Sarah, went for advice. I had already been studying Tarot and had picked up a good deal of knowledge at a young age about Astrology, so I was determined to follow this path.
At the moment, this is an online store. I provide readings either in person or over the internet and I ship the majority of our products. I also have local meet-ups for deliveries. As we develop this store into something more ambitious and larger in scope, I would like you to take a while to browse around and discover the magic that lies behind each item. You never know what you might come across.
I am incredibly excited about this journey because it is the closest I have ever felt to being truly, authentically me. Thank you for walking this magical path with me.
